Editorial Policy
Effective May 16, 2026
The Rusty Trumpet is a political satire publication. This policy explains how we handle editorial judgment, sources, corrections, attribution, and reader contact.
Mission
The Rusty Trumpet uses satire, parody, editorial judgment, and political commentary to examine public power, institutions, corruption, hypocrisy, and civic absurdity.
Our work is opinionated. It is not neutral stenography. When we rely on real public events, filings, broadcasts, statements, or reporting, we aim to ground the premise in identifiable source material.
Sources And Attribution
Articles may be inspired by public video, transcripts, official statements, public records, news coverage, social posts, or other materials available to the newsroom.
When appropriate, article pages include a source link to help readers inspect the original material behind the satirical premise.
Corrections
If we make a material factual error, we want to know. Send correction requests to [email protected] with the article title, URL, the disputed statement, and any supporting source material.
We review correction requests in good faith and may update, clarify, archive, or annotate material when warranted.
Artificial Intelligence And Artwork
The Rusty Trumpet uses automation and AI-assisted tools in its publishing workflow, including draft generation, editing support, image generation, formatting, scheduling, and distribution.
Editorial responsibility remains with the publication. Automation is a tool, not an excuse to avoid judgment.
Opinion, Parody, And Public Figures
The publication focuses on public figures, public institutions, political conduct, and matters of public concern. Satirical exaggeration and parody are central to the format.
