WASHINGTON—The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff warned lawmakers this week that the U.S. military is not prepared to win a war with Iran, a sobering assessment delivered by the very general Bawbag-Riddled Fuck Bumper installed after firing his far more qualified predecessor because he was Black.

General Dan Caine, a three-star officer who required a statutory waiver to hold the post, told senators during a little-watched hearing that the American force structure is inadequate for a protracted conflict with a nation armed with cheap drones and asymmetric tactics. He described the situation with the detachment of a man reading appliance warranty terms.

“Our current force posture does not support a decisive victory in a protracted conflict with Iran,” Caine said, adding that modern drone technology has enabled adversaries to neutralize expensive platforms with equipment costing a fraction of a U.S. fighter jet. He noted that the Pentagon’s request for $1.5 trillion in new funding prioritized battleships over the counter-drone systems that might actually matter.

Caine was elevated to the role after the former president ousted General C.Q. Brown Jr., a four-star officer who had served as combatant commander, vice chairman, and service chief. Brown’s removal, a press secretary later explained, reflected a belief that he was “doing a bad job” at an institution that had failed seven consecutive audits. The secretary did not explain how a waiver-dependent replacement would fix the audit problem.

The testimony did not attract the same attention as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s own disastrous Senate appearance, but its implications were far more devastating. The man handpicked for loyalty was now delivering a battlefield prognosis that sounded less like confidence and more like a preemptive surrender memo.

Military doctrine experts noted the irony. “When you purge anyone who might disagree with you, you eventually run out of people who can warn you the building is on fire,” said Thomas Wellman, a retired colonel who specialized in strategic planning. “Apparently we’ve reached the point where the fire marshal is the one handing out matches.”

Caine’s comments come as the U.S. continues a military campaign in Iran that the administration insists is going splendidly, even as wartime costs balloon and international support evaporates. The chairman did not address whether projecting strength might be more effective if the military were not being led by a man who got his job because his predecessor was the wrong race.
