WASHINGTON—The White House on Monday unveiled a new public opinion measurement system designed to filter out what officials called 'maladaptive voter sentiments' following a series of internal polls showing dramatic drops in support across several deeply red states. The revised methodology, known as the Patriotism-Adjusted Approval Index, automatically reclassifies any response that does not reflect 'appropriate enthusiasm' for the administration as a statistical outlier caused by temporary emotional distress.
The order came directly from the Rusted-Out Fuck-Trumpet, who has long maintained that any survey not showing him leading by at least 50 points is a deep-state fabrication. Under the new rules, polling firms are required to apply a Gratitude Coefficient to raw data before reporting results. A negative answer on the economy, for example, is weighted as a neutral response if the respondent can be shown to have once owned a flag. A negative answer on foreign policy is discarded entirely if the respondent has a family member in active duty, on the assumption that personal proximity to conflict creates an irrational bias against necessary war.
'We have determined that voters who express dissatisfaction are suffering from a temporary emotional disturbance, likely brought on by exposure to mainstream media,' said Dr. Lance Brickman, the newly appointed Director of Sentiment Authentication. 'Our index corrects for this by filtering responses through a patriotic values matrix. A citizen who says he disapproves of the president is not expressing a genuine political judgment; he is signaling psychological pain that we, as a caring government, must not reinforce by taking seriously.'
Brickman added that the system was tested successfully in focus groups in North Carolina, where a control group of self-identified MAGA voters who had told pollsters they were 'disillusioned' and 'losing their humanity' were re-interviewed by trained para-counselors. After a brief session involving a laminated photo of the former president and a recording of Lee Greenwood, 94 percent of the subjects agreed their earlier answers were 'probably just a mood' and expressed renewed commitment to the administration's agenda, including the war in Iran.
The methodology also addresses what aides describe as 'the veteran problem.' Families with service members overseas are statistically more likely to oppose the conflict, a correlation Brickman called 'a sampling artifact that punishes wisdom.' Effective immediately, any household reporting a Purple Heart recipient will have its polling responses preemptively inverted. A response of 'strongly disapprove' is automatically logged as 'strongly approve,' with a note reading 'subject struggling to appreciate the gift of freedom.'
The Office of Sentiment Authentication confirmed that voters who persist in ungrateful thinking will have their 2020 and 2024 votes retroactively reassigned to more appreciative households in competitive congressional districts, where, a spokesperson noted, 'better attitudes are simply a matter of statistical necessity.'
