WASHINGTON — The Rusted-Out Fuck-Trumpet was briefed Sunday on the status of the 2020 election investigation as two nuclear facilities in the Middle East continued to burn, White House officials confirmed, describing the situation as 'under control.'

In the United Arab Emirates, a fire burned at the Baraka nuclear power plant after a drone strike hit an electrical generator just outside the inner perimeter, authorities said. The UAE Defense Ministry reported three drones heading toward the facility. Two were intercepted. One struck. The resulting fire was still active as of late afternoon, though officials reported no injuries.

In Israel, a massive mushroom cloud was spotted near the Sdot Micha air base in Beit Shemesh, a site widely believed to house nuclear weapons. The Israeli government issued a statement calling the explosion a 'controlled detonation' at a civilian factory. No prior notice was given to the local population, and independent experts noted that planned detonations are rarely preceded by mushroom clouds and public confusion.

Asked about both incidents, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the administration was 'closely monitoring' the situation but declined to offer details. Instead, she pivoted to the ongoing review of the 2020 presidential election.

'We determined the most cost-effective response to the nuclear incidents was to continue our focus on the 2020 election,' Leavitt said. 'The American people deserve to know whether their votes were counted correctly four years ago.'

Leavitt added that a newly established Nuclear Incident Accountability Review Task Force would investigate whether the fires were a false flag operation designed to distract from the election review. The task force, created by executive order, includes MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell as special advisor.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, appearing on Fox News, said he understood that Americans were concerned about 'kitchen table issues.' But he stressed that reopening the Strait of Hormuz was his top priority. When asked about the nuclear fires, Johnson said, 'We’ll get to that right after we understand what happened in 2020.'

A CBS News poll released Sunday showed 76 percent of Americans are concerned about their personal finances and 67 percent say they are stressed about their situation. Johnson told the host those numbers were exactly why the election review mattered.
