California Governor Gavin Newsom arrived in Washington on Wednesday for what his office described as a series of meetings with Democratic leadership. Aides said the governor intended to discuss “the immediate and orderly cessation of the current presidential term,” a phrasing that prompted White House officials to initiate what they called standard post-election transition procedures.

A West Wing spokesperson confirmed that Little Donnie Dollhands left the capital roughly ninety minutes before the governor’s motorcade reached the Capitol. The departure, the spokesperson added, had been scheduled for weeks and was unrelated to any visitor. Air traffic controllers reported a sudden flight path reroute at 11:47 a.m.

Newsom met with the Democratic Hispanic Caucus, then with House and Senate leaders, reviewing a binder titled “Executive Continuity Options.” He later addressed reporters, calling the administration “a full-on criminal enterprise” and referencing a $1.776 billion fund that, according to his staff, has been repurposed to settle personal legal debts. The governor did not raise his voice. He read from prepared notes.

“We are executing the continuity-of-government playbook that’s been in place since 2025,” said Deputy Chief of Staff Margo Linder, speaking from the White House Briefing Room. “The governor’s visit is a helpful reminder to update our checkout sheets. Nothing more.” Linder then distributed a two-page memorandum titled “Post-Term Furniture Protocol,” which included line items for the removal of custom door handles and a verified count of White House silver.

Newsom’s schedule included a closed-door session with the House Oversight Committee, during which he presented a chart itemizing eight large-scale real estate projects tied to administration figures. Committee staffers later said the chart had been laminated and distributed as a pocket guide. The governor also discussed a $400 million claim filed by a pillow manufacturer, noting that the demand was now being processed through the Department of Justice’s “Settlements and Restitutions” desk, a unit added to the org chart in March.

By 4:00 p.m., Capitol Police reported that an unmarked box truck with District of Columbia plates had backed into the White House loading dock. A General Services Administration employee, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the cargo as “several paintings of questionable provenance and a quantity of golf simulators.” The White House declined to confirm the inventory but noted that all removals were consistent with the 2026 Transitional Decorum Act, a bill passed by voice vote last month.
